more or less, modern Chinese people has the same wish: Back to Tang Dynasty, for all kinds of reasons..
as for me, Tang dynasty probably suits me the best.
It was a time of dream, one of the most splendid chapters of Chinese history.
Men with talents shined in their own ways, like stars in the sky....no matter what talent they had, official circle or outlaws, there were plenty places for them to show off.
You can be confident, or a bit bluffing;
You can make the best of things or take the world as it is;
You can choose ways to make widely known, or you can hide;
You know who you are, and what you can and cannot do;
You know brilliant people are out there and everywhere, and you also believe in your own uniqueness;
You are modest and gentle outside; but you are sharp and extraordinary inside;
You know how to enjoy the bustling and flourishing and ostentatiously prosperous; and you know how to keep a distance from it;
You keep low-profile for a time being, and being full comfortable for any shine moment in the wide and sky of freedom.
那个时代自信张扬，可以随遇而安，但如果有可能，人们还是更愿意显达;士人们清楚自己的才能，也熟悉其他江湖才俊；君子看起来温和谦逊，内心锋芒闪亮；男女可以享受繁华极致，也可以置身事外……
盛唐……就那么短短的一个历史时期，却比任何其他的时代更加地承载着中国人的梦想和期盼。连封建社会时代鼎盛的康乾盛世也无法提供那种宽慰人心的梦想的力量，到底因为有着怎样的烙印呢？
不知道什么样的书和文字可以极尽表现它的荣耀，但是书籍永远填充着空虚的繁荣，到底什么是历史的真实……真想亲眼看见。而话说回来，所谓承载梦想的时代，或许就仅仅是因为想象？
